Lots of Resources

There is no shortage of resources when it comes to consolidating your medical education into this easy-to-use app. It is a brilliantly designed tool that acts as an extension of the web platform to take your education on the go. Between the Qbanks, Wikipedia references, and personalized study plan, the app and website are going to be priceless in the upcoming year.

A must for any future doc

I got this app thinking that it would be just another board prep resource...it ended up being a cornerstone to how I coordinate long term studying in medicine. This app gives literally thousands of Qbank questions and flashcards, which remind you to study old material via notifications. The web platform does so much more by allowing you to upload lectures, take notes, watch relevant YouTube videos, create your own personalized step 1 study calendar and more. They even have Wikipedia, First Aid and Picmonic integration!! Also, I read that Osmosis gives complimentary access to underprivileged students throughout Africa. Definitely a company that is morally and ethically in line with the values of medicine.

Highly Recommend Osmosis

Osmosis is a unique education tool created by medical students for medical students. Rather than testing simple factual recall, Osmosis prepares you for real-life medical practice by providing questions through clinical vignettes to test your knowledge. The vision/drive behind this tool is to prepare 21st century medical students through teaching/testing via integration and connection of medical facts which is the future of MedED! The iPhone user face is super easy to navigate and makes learning “fun” and not a chore. I highly encourage all medical students to check out this app.

Highly Recommend!

Spend less time planning and more time studying! Osmosis is an all-in-one resource that helps you prepare for you classroom exams, board exams, and clerkships by allowing you to upload your classroom lectures and integrating them with First Aid, Picmonic, mnemonics, YouTube, and other great resources. Unlike other question banks, the Osmosis platform creates a personalized study schedule while automatically highlighting key points from First Aid as well as creating flashcards and multiple choice questions. Osmosis also allows you to work with your classmates, share notes and flashcards, and utilizes a plethora of memory tools such as spaced repetition, visual learning, and patient/memory associations. Osmosis is truly revolutionizing medical education.

Definitely Recommended!

People learn by all sorts of methods: traditional schools, memorization, watching and learning, etc.. Learning by Osmosis is something else: it integrates board exams and classroom in amazing and fun way. It also offers short youtube videos and images that reinforces the concept and makes it easy to understand and difficult to forget. It is also easy to use. Medical education by Osmosis is simply fun and I definitely recommend every medical student to learn by Osmosis!

5 minutes a day

Osmosis was extremely useful for me throughout my 2nd year and during dedicated Step 1 studying. I was able to use any downtime I had during the day (between classes, waiting in line at the store etc) to create a quick 5 minute quiz on a given topic. It helped me be productive and brush up on various topics in a fun spontaneous way. Osmosis is so unique relative to other resources and the mobile focus makes it a must have for the modern medical student toolbelt!

Mr.Saud

Osmosis is a great learning tool, it has numerous high-yield questions and study cards. What makes osmosis unique , is that they always try to link concepts to things around us( sports, movies, Tv shows, ...etc.) to help you remember. This helps a lot in grasping the huge knowledge we learn in med school. They try to make studying fun, not something boring we have to do. Not to forget about the videos or websites usually recommended at the end of each question, or the plenty of mnemonics. They have an outstanding support team responding to your question within minutes. I am glad that I was introduced to osmosis, it is a great help, and fun way to learn.

Medical Student

Osmosis is AMAZING!! I have been a fellow user since my first semester of medical school when the app was not even half of what it is today. I still liked it then because it gave me a different approach to questions and allowed me to practice the topics I was covering in lectures, all while I was grabbing a coffee, or walking over from point A to point B, and even from the comfort of my own bed while going to sleep. When Shiv and the rest of the Osmosis team launched Osmosis Prime, I really didnt think it could get better...ohh but it did! After switching over to Osmosis Prime and inputting my information and test dates as well as my STEP 1 date, the app has allowed me o practice relevant material that goes hand in hand with my schedule of lectures, exams, and more! If you dont have this app on your phone yet and havent joined, you must give it a try. The best part of it all is that you get a free trial when you join allowing you full access to the app so that you can determine whether or not it is something you want to continue using or not. If I had to rate this app I would give it 5 stars for uniqueness, efficiency, user friendly, engagig, and FUN! Who said learning cant be easy and fun?!?!

Great way to review on the go!

Being able to review my flash cards from Osmosis while checking my mail or Facebook or during downtime between classes keeps me on track with my Board prep. After only three days of seeing a question at different points, I remember the answer months later. And it still pops up once and awhile to test me! The web version is amazing and they are great at listening to student input and making changes to help us get the highest scores we can! Cant say enough about this great app and program! :))

Osmosis is AMAZING

Osmosis has saved me tons of time generating questions and flash-cards and generated a long-term retention model based only on the content I’ve learned. Osmosis uses your lecture outlines and slides (that you, your classmates, or your institution can upload into our calendar) and automatically recognizes terms to generate flashcards of STEP-pertinent facts, multiple choice questions from several huge question banks and more! Every medical word you click on of your class slides/outlines will pull up the wikipedia page, images, references from First Aid, 3D anatomy files, and picmonic links in the page! The flashcards enter a SRS (better than that of anki) to schedule flashcards and questions on your computer, tablet, or phone to ask you right when you forget! This is a centralized organized platform that allows you to organize less and study more!

Great for board review

Great questions. Flashcard integration works well with Prime on desktop. I would like to see more functionality in the app, such as the creation of new flash cards like in the desktop version, as well as Wikipedia links. It would also be nice to able to choose a general pathology review instead of having it split by systems.

Excellent resource

Resources are excellent! The flash cards were helpful for quiz and exam prep. The interface can feel overwhelming at first, but not hard to figure out.

Amazing tool for Med School and Boards

Osmosis is one of the best tools I have come across for my USMLE preparation and classes. The push notifications help me do USMLE oriented questions and flash cards while Im waiting for a class to start, waiting in line somewhere, doing groceries, etc. Osmosis makes me think and remember medical facts and knowledge all through out the day. Many of the things Ive learned and remembered from Osmosis have appeared in Uworld questions and NBMEs, helping me raise my score in these. I highly recommend Osmosis to every single medical student.

Great Study Aid

Osmosis makes it very easy to retain clinical information. I really enjoy the tie-ins to public figures and celebrities, as this makes for a very useful memory retention tool.

Osmosis is a must have

Theres not a day that I dont appreciate what osmosis have created. I love the way it integrates with our courses and prepares you for the boards at the same time. I love all the features and the fast comm with the staff.

Very useful tool!

I love using Osmosis as the web-based platform. It has been very helpful getting my lecture notes organized and keeping up with material. That being said, the mobile app is a very nice tool for reviewing questions but it doesn’t include a way to review the lecture notes you have posted, which I feel like would be a helpful feature to add.

Med School Necessity

Osmosis is definitely one of the best resources a med student can invest in. Its helped me tremendously in classes and board prep. The app is easy to use, and using it helps so much in testing and improving your knowledge. Highly recommend.

Not as good as what is offered on desktop.

I am an avid osmosis and try to get other classmates to use the service, but the main thing lacking with osmosis is the fact that you cannot do as much on the app as on the desktop platform. • cannot repeat MCQs on mobile once completed • graphics in flashcards often do not show up (cant scroll all the way down) • other services on the desktop regarding quiz generation would be amazing to have on mobile. I recommend using the osmosis app and program, but the app is behind what the desktop platform is capable of doing.

Good app

As a medical student, I have been using this app for a year and am planning on using it to prepare for Step 1. Great interface, good features. Great content. I would give this 5 stars if the Picmonic pictures would have hyperlinks to Picmonic website or app. I would give this 6 stars if First Aid was better integrated.

USMLE step 1

Its by far the best resource I have to prepare for the USMLE. The flashcard spaced repetitions help me to remember important facts that cant help me with many questions. I recommend Osmosis to everyone.
