Osmosis: Medical School Notes App Reviews

Solid platform

I really like osmosis, it is easy to use and has great integration with a few other resources: picmonic, q banks, celebrity dx and wiki. It works best if a group of students can work together which can be tough given the price tag. Would be perfect if UWORLD was integrated and if you could download decks to your device to access them offline.

Ammazing

Ammazing app ..i love the way to correlate between information and animation and very high yield question ..i preparing for step 2 ck and step 1 from osmosis ,,keep it up osmosis team ..thank you so muck :)

Osmosis Rocks

Osmosis is so much more than questions and flash cards. The wiki and picmonic integration are so valuable when trying to learn as fast as you can at the same time as making it stick.

Wonderful study tool!

I love being able to access my flashcards from anywhere

Osmosis offers variety of questions!!!

I think one of Osmosis’s greatest strengths is the questions that it offers for each subject. These questions are great for establishing a foundation for the topics you will learn about during your first 2 years of Medical School. Many of them include pictures and sometimes correlations to famous people who had these same diseases —makes it a lot easier to remember some of these conditions when I can apply it to someone that I’ve heard of. The reason that I switched to Osmosis is due to how closely it follows Picmonics. Whenever you get a question wrong, Osmosis has great explanations and had links to the picmonic about that topic as well as youtube videos or other helpful links about the subject. While Osmosis questions can never replace UWORLD questions, I think that they may be a useful tool to have as an adjunct while going through your classes. Their questions are very well crafted, clinically significant, and have great explanations.

Medical Student- current user

I started using Osmosis after my first medical school exam. From one exam to the next I was able to increase my school by 20% points. I attribute a large majority of this to the use of Osmosis. Their innovative platform allows you to integrate many different study tools easily; allowing you to integrate with your school’s curriculum. I enjoy using the iPhone app, iPad app, and desktop platform; each offers it’s own strengths and are great when all used in conjunction with one another.

Use the full system!

Osmosis is an incredible platform for revolutionizing the way med students learn. From the browser-based ability to upload all of my lectures to the iPad and mobile apps to help me study and review on the go, this seamless incorporation helps shorten the distance between the material and my long-term memory. As it has been built and continues to be ran by medical students, the Osmosis team is constantly improving the system in ways that truly matter to a med student. This is truly the best all-encompassing platform for both lecture and board study.

Amazing!

I love osmosis! The app works without glitches and allows me to study on the go for boards and class.

MS3

Osmosis was a great resource for studying for step one. Whenever I was in a random place such as in line at the grocery store or waiting at an appointment, I would open my Osmosis app and go through questions. They also include ways for you to remember the question and helpful hints. I scored 20 points above the national average on step one and I am glad that I had Osmosis as part of my study plan. I will definitely be using it again for step two.

Awesome

Using osmosis has helped me to significantly increase my exam grade through allowing me spend less time making flashcards and more time actively learning through flashcards. I love how on the desktop version I can have flashcards on one side of the screen and try to guess the answer, then I can immediately refer to the slide from class that is on the left side of the screen. This allows me to go through multiple rounds of active repetition while not just using words, but also using visuals as well - as presented on the slides. So one thing that I would improve about the app is to allow the slides and flash cards to be displayed simultaneously. I would use it more often is this were possible. As of now, I stick with the website on a desktop.

Osmosis is a great study “assistant"

I switched from firecracker to osmosis, and that was the best choice for me during the semester I just finished. The space repetition is programmed much better with osmosis and the flashcards are much more relevant to what I am learning in the lecture, however, the same time also very closely linked to step 1. Osmosis linked all my study material together: lecture slides from school, first aid step 1 book, youtube mini lectures and patient experience, wikipedia pages, and a huge step 1 question bank. Everything is just one click away in Osmosis. The amount of the daily flashcards is very doable and played a big role in my ease during final exams preparation. This is a great study tool and I wish I got to know this in the beginning of my basic science classes.
