First Year Med Student

Its simple. Its a resource that covers almost everything you need to know in medical school in the first year and the second year. Getting at the information in a variety of ways is one of the best ways to learn the volume of material covered in medical school Here is one of the best ways to do it. Flash cards pre-built and ones you can make yourself that are built off a staggered review system, concise explanations of all diseases, embedded First Aid and Wikipedia resources, drill down into one disease or cover entire systems, and 100s of USMLE style questions to test your mettle. Easy to use, easy to excel at, and an awesome way to study while on the move. Learn on the go, or sitting down when coupled with Osmosis Prime on your computer. You have your phone with you 24/7, why not have your medical school as well?

Best

The best app to prepare for the USMLE. The ability to create schedule, views video lesions, it shows what you know and what is bad. And of course the training tests.

Saves time & Improves learning

Ive been subscribed to this program for some time and it helps organize my studying, increase accessibility to questions and flashcards, and retain information better. Its all I wanted. The staff is responsive to your needs.

Amazing Application!

Osmosis is an amazing application that not only allows students to keep all of their coursework in a organized platform, but also uses that same coursework to formulate personalized practice materials. This includes flashcards, practice questions, videos, etc., all based on coursework that you are currently studying. Osmosis also keeps you on your toes by sending "push questions" to your mobile devices throughout the day, so you are continuously learning new things and are constantly exposed to practice questions. There are also tons of additional practice questions in all categories and organ systems available at your own leisure. These are just a few of the many components Osmosis uses to help students succeed in their studies. Since joining Osmosis I have had a wonderful experience. Communication through an in-platform messaging system allows quick and effective delivery, and everyone at Osmosis is extremely caring and willing to help you in any way they can. I absolutely LOVE Osmosis and the services they provide. I wish that I joined earlier because now I cannot see myself studying without it.

Great App for Enhancing your Studying

The Osmosis App is really great. Its simple to use and works smoothly. It is a great accompaniment with the Osmosis Prime package. With the Prime package you can access thousands of questions and flash cards on a variety of topics (anatomy, GI system, cardiovascular system etc.) from the App. Its therefore the perfect way to prepare yourself for a test or just a way to ensure that you understand the related content. The "push questions" are an extremely useful feature of the App. The App sends you several questions as notifications throughout the day that ensures that youre continuously revising and storing information to your long term memory. Thoroughly love the App and Osmosis!

Very helpful!

This app paired with the website are great tools to utilize throughout school and exam preparation. Instead of spending time creating flash cards to solidify concepts, osmosis has done that for you so you can dive right in. The question bank is helpful to master concepts. I find the links of each subject to medscape, Google and picmonic very useful. The platform is also reasonably priced and the customer service team is very responsive. I highly recommend this platform.

Great resource

Osmosis is a great resource to help. Pain information and makes it much more fun.

Quizzes

I like Osmosis because it provides a great opportunity to quiz myself on random topics within my current clerkship. If I find that my current knowledge falls short on any quiz question, there are links to videos and other resources so that I can quickly find the information I need. The daily quizzes are great to go over in the early morning before starting rounds.

I wish I knew about this sooner

I wish I knew about this app sooner.....it is a MUST for imgs.......organized learning at its best......I will recommend it to everyone....

Medicine made easy!

The most significant problem we Medical students face is having to recall stuff weve studied after a certain period of time and this is where this amazing tool comes in. Its like Anki on steroids without the stress and its crazy that I havent even fully explored it. I love the use of spaced repetition to reinforce concepts studied and it works with our curriculum to give you questions & material that are relevant to what you are studying while being almost effortless to use.

Waste of Money for a poor medical student

This program is difficult to navigate and doesnt offer nearly the quality of resources that other programs have. It sounds like a good idea, but they have simply not made the improvements necessary to make this a time-friendly resource. Their customer support is responsive but often rude. I would highly recommend that you spend you money elsewhere on resources you will actually use (like Sketchy, UWorld, and First Aid) and skip this one. While they do provide the thousands of flash cards and practice questions they claim to, they aret really any better than the brosencephalon First Aid deck one can find for free on Anki. They will surely respond to this review by saying that they vet their information and cant imagine how anyone would not find their resources useful, but the fact is that I didnt and there are very few reviews out there about this product that dont come directly from Osmosis.

Awe-mazing!!!

Terrific app and pairs really well with the outstanding website. Push notifications are so useful for an app like this because you get reminders to do questions when you check your phone during your spare time (wish Anki had a similar feature). I was extremely impressed by their website and how theyve managed to collect the different facets of the med school experience (class notes, First Aid, Pathoma, flash cards, clinical vignettes), placed under one user-friendly hub. Also, their service and eagerness to help new users really stands out. Shiv is awesome! You can tell the entire staff is very dedicated to helping med students get the most out of Osmosis. And theyre always trying to make it better. I really cant say enough good things abt Osmosis - so good!! Its delivered well beyond anything I expected, and it’s become a mainstay of my Step 1 prep. Highly highly recommend to fellow students.

Great Utility!

As an first year med student, I have searched high and low for tools that will help me handle and organize the workload thrown at me in medical school. This app really helps me do this. Many people told me, when I started my first year that my previous study methods just wouldn’t cut it for med school. Now I think they were only partially correct; if you can figure out how to organize your study material such that you are able to obtain and maintain the repetition of concepts, you will succeed. Osmosis helps me do this. From pushing flashcards to my phone, to constructing a timeline of all my coursework, to suggesting resources (videos, picmonic, etc.), it takes a lot of the organization work off my shoulders. My lecture content is always accessible, even if I don’t have my personal laptop with me. It is a very powerful and comprehensive tool. Best of all, the support staff is amazing! They are incredibly accessible and always open to suggestions. They have rolled out many improvements, even in the short time I have been using it. I would highly recommend anyone give it a try.

Convenient

Nice and easy to use but I think the aesthetics of the app could be a little more modern and it would be nice to be able to rate the questions on here :)

Year 2

So far so good. Havent seen anything else like it in the usmle prep space. Innovative feedback features + good push notifications questions. Hopefully time spent on my phone will actually get more productive with this app.

Medical student

Osmosis is an innovative and forward thinking medical app. The timely push notification combined with the unique method of linking important medical concepts to memorable cues makes osmosis a powerful learning tool. One of the most valuable thing about this app is that it enables me to utilize my time efficiently when I am on the go (i.e. On the bus). I would highly recommend Osmosis to all medical students at any stage of their medical training.

Osmosis rocks!!

I have been using the Osmosis app for about two years. The best thing about it is that it does not take much mental energy to open it. Osmosis has made med school so much doable - even when working part-time, as I do. Now the web-based application is out, learning is even easier. Just upload your power point or case study, and watch Osmosis generate high-yield questions for you AND send you subject-specific mcqs to your mobile. Now I can learn the content - stress free, and do other things in life. I am SO glad that I am in med with this amazing app, Osmosis!!

A good material for review

Pros: Osmosis app is an efficient tool to wrap up must-know topics for the steps. I personally make the most of my spare time while I’m waiting trains, elevators or even my senior doctors in wards. Cons: 1. App does not synchronise a progress status on website on occasions. 2. There are sometimes errors on questions and/or flashcards, so you have to check textbooks by yourself. This app still, however, helps you overview your weak points for a better score.
